Open to all ages and abilities, the Colour Dash is all about choice — run, walk, roll, skip, or dance your way around the course as many times as you like until 1:00pm. You’ll start in white and finish joyfully covered in vibrant colour.
When you’re ready, head into the Colour Carnival for music, movement, food trucks, and seriously fun activities — it’s a full day out for everyone.

What is the Colour Dash?
The Colour Dash is a vibrant, inclusive, joy-filled community event designed for everyone — with accessibility built in from the ground up. You start in white, get joyfully covered in colour, and finish having had a seriously good time.
When and where is the event?
Colour Dash 2026 takes place at Ngataringa Sports Fields, Devonport, Auckland.

Mass warm-up: 10:40am
Mass start: 11:00am
Course open until: 1:00pm
Last lap bell: 12:50pm
If crowds aren’t your thing, you’re welcome to join the course anytime before 12:00pm.
Who can participate?
Everyone! The event is open to all ages and abilities. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun, family-friendly day out, the Colour Dash is for you.
Do I need a Ticket to participate?
Yes — a ticket is required to take part in the Colour Dash.
While the Colour Dash is a fun, inclusive community event, it’s also a fundraiser for the Liz Soper Foundation of Care.
100% of every ticket purchased goes directly to the Liz Soper Foundation of Care, helping fund meaningful experiences and opportunities for people living with disabilities.
By grabbing a ticket, you’re not just joining the fun — you’re making a real difference.
How many laps do I have to do?
As many — or as few — as you like.
The course stays open until 1:00pm, and you decide when you’re done.

Do I have to run?
Absolutely not.
You can run, walk, roll, skip, dance, stroll, or vibe your way around the course.
There’s no timing, no pressure, and no “right” way to do Colour Dash.
Can I bring my family?
Yes! Colour Dash is a family-friendly event and kids are very welcome.
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
Is the event accessible?
Yes — accessibility is built in by design.
The course is suitable for wheelchairs, mobility aids, prams, and people who prefer to take things at a slower pace. There are accessible spaces across the event site, and our team and volunteers are there to support you.
If you have specific accessibility needs, feel free to get in touch ahead of the event.
What do I wear?
Wear white (or light colours) if you want maximum colour impact — and clothes you don’t mind getting colourful.
Closed shoes are recommended.
Pro tip: this will be the last time your outfit is white.
Official Colour Dash T-shirts can be added to your ticket for $5.
What happens after the dash?
When you’re ready to finish, head down the finish chute and into the Colour Carnival, featuring:
The Food Truck Collective
A live DJ with colour-burst moments
A 12-metre inflatable obstacle course (ages 12 & under)
An epic colour-powder slip ’n slide
Free balloon animals and face painting (included with a purchased Colour Dash ticket)
Can I volunteer at the event?
Absolutely! We’re always looking for volunteers to help out on the day. If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact us through the website for more information.
Where do the event proceeds go?
The Colour Dash deesigned to be an unforgettable community event and major fundraiser for The Liz Soper Foundation of Care, a registered charity in New Zealand. The foundations purpose is simple: To reduce the financial barriers to fun. We help adults living with complex disabilities enjoy life's extras—those unforgettable experiences the shape life.
What are the Colour Dash Terms and Condition of Entry?
Event Participation
Participation in the Colour Dash is at your own risk. The organizers, sponsors, and affiliates are not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during the event.Non-Refundable Tickets
All ticket purchases are final. No refunds will be provided for any reason, including but not limited to, non-attendance, illness, or weather conditions.Event Changes
The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the event schedule, location, or activities due to unforeseen circumstances. If the event is rescheduled, your ticket will remain valid for the new date.Safety Requirements
Participants must follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by event staff. Failure to comply may result in removal from the event without compensation.Photo and Video Release
By participating, you consent to being photographed and/or filmed during the event. These images and recordings may be used for promotional purposes by the event organizers.Personal Belongings
The organizers are not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings during the event.Children and Minors
Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Guardians are responsible for the supervision and safety of minors.Assumption of Risk

What happens if it rains?
Colour Dash goes ahead rain or shine.
If there are any safety-related changes, we’ll communicate these via email and social media.
Is the colour powder safe?
Yes, the powders are made from natural, non-toxic ingredients and are safe for both people and the environment. They’re also easy to wash off after the event. You can read the Holi Powder Safety Data Sheet by clicking on the button below.
