What is the Colour Dash?

Our Colour Dash is a vibrant, inclusive, joy-filled community event designed for everyone — with accessibility built in from the ground up.

For 2026, the Colour Dash returns to the Ngataringa Sports Fields in Devonport, Auckland — and this year, you can complete as many laps as you like. The course will remain open until 1pm, so you can dash at your own pace, for as long (or as little!) as you like.

Start Time: We’re kicking things off with one epic mass start:

Group warm-up: 10:40am
Colour Dash starts: 11:00am

Prefer things quieter? If crowds aren’t for you, feel free to join the course anytime before 12pm.

What to Expect: Dashers begin in white attire and finish as bright, joy-soaked works of art — thanks to bursts of colour along the way. There will be snow, bubbles, and even foam to contend with!

What to Expect on the day!

1. Check-in at Registration

Head to the registration tent when you arrive! We’ll check your ticket and stamp you for entry into the start zone. If you pre-ordered a Colour Dash t-shirt, you can collect it here—or grab a t-shirt and/or cap for from $5 (100% donated to the Liz Soper Foundation of Care).

2. Pre-Dash Prep

Get there early and lock in for the time of your life — the mass warm-up kicks off at 10:40am and it’s unmissable.
This is where the vibes lift, the groove starts, and everyone gets moving together before the big start.

Bring your crew. Bring your energy. Stretch optional. Warm-up essential.
It’s your chance to put those moves into practice (follow us on socials so you know exactly what to do at 10:40am).

This is where the energy builds and the chaos begins.

3. Hit the Colour Dash Loop!

Run, walk, roll, skip, or dance your way around the course as many times as you like until 1:00pm (last lap bell rings at 12:50pm).Your Colour Dash. Your call.

This year you’ll cruise through the Harcourts Blue Zone, a Winter-in-March Snow Zone, our NEW epic Foam Era, and 6-metre bubble tunnel — plus plenty more surprises along the way.

4. Finish Strong

When you’re ready, head down the finish chute and straight into the Colour Carnival — where the party really starts.

This year we’re turning it up with The Food Truck Collective, a live DJ with colour-burst moments, a 12-metre inflatable obstacle course for ages 12 and under, and an epic colour-powder slip ’n slide you won’t want to leave — plus balloon animals and epic face painting, all free with a purchased Colour Dash ticket.
