THE START

  • No need to check in if you have already picked up your pack.
  • You must be wearing your Colour Dash t shirt and your 2021 wristband on your wrist (these will be in your Registration Pack).
  • We let off waves of approx. 500 people every 3-6 minutes – so make sure you’re lining up with people you want to walk or run with.
  • We always suggest you bring a bottle of water, especially on a hot day.
  • Be aware that with so many participants there will be a wait at the start chute. We promise to keep you entertained but please be patient.
  • The Course – a loop around Trustpower Baypark

COLOUR STATIONS

You will pass through five colour stations – pink, green, orange, yellow and blue.

  • Our colour is 100% natural food dyed food grade corn starch.
  • We suggest wearing bandanas, glasses or goggles if you’re worried about getting colour in your mouth or eyes.
  • Our colour throwers try to aim as low as possible.
  • Make sure you keep moving through the station and do not stop.

PHOTOGRAPHY / CAMERAS

There will be photographers and film crews on site during the event. By participating in the event, you gave your consent on registration for any images or footage to be used in event material including future promotions.

Feel free to bring your own camera/smart phone to capture the memories of the day. We suggest wrapping them in cling wrap or placing them in a plastic bag to protect them.

RULES & SAFETY & RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Walkers and Dancers stay to the left – runners to the right.
  • Colour wheels – wheel chairs and prams are the only wheels permitted on course and it is recommended you place yourself towards the back of the start chute (please leave bikes and scooters etc at home).
  • If you are participating with small children, please watch and direct them through the event (we recommend writing your name and number on a piece of paper and pinning this to their shirt).
  • Toilets – make sure you get this sorted before you head off as there are no toilet facilities along the route.
  • Free to run or walk.
  • If you are concerned with any part of the experience please feel free to wear safety glasses, a bandana, dust mask or similar. Should you have any difficulties whilst on course please notify a staff member or volunteer.
  • No fur babies – please keep your animals at home even if you think they would love it.
  • Please follow the directions provided by event officials and volunteers.
  • Most of all, have fun and remain respectful and courteous to everyone around you.

LOST KIDS AND PROPERTY

Please go to the Registration or Information sites for any help you need.

FIRST AID

There is a First Aid Station located within the Finish Festival area. If you get into trouble, please make a staff member or volunteer aware so that they can call for assistance.

FINISH FESTIVAL

CAR DASH & DANCE PARTY

Join in on the fun with Farmer Autovillage. We'll be sending a Volkswagen T-Cross down a lane where people can throw colour at it as it dashes past. Let's see how colourful we can make it!

We will have a live band pumping out the music and a big Zumba dance party afterwards.

Grab a bite to eat, enjoy the afternoon festivities and don't forget to get a photo at the More FM 'photo wall'.

Additional colour can be purchased for $4 a packet or three packets for $10 (cash or eftpos only).

GETTING CLEAN

PREPARATION

  • When Oily Hair is a Good Thing! Oil will help the colour wash out (particularly important for blondes) – ie leave-in conditioner, coconut oil, morocco oil or something similar.
  • Cover up – if you are not ok with having colour in your hair then we recommend you wear a wig, scarf or a hat (especially if you have blonde hair).
  • Cover your car seats – rubbish bag, old towel or blanket is recommended for your trip home.
  • Use sunscreen and lip balm to protect you from the sun and it will also help the colour to slide off after the event.
  • We suggest you leave expensive strollers, sunglasses, clothes and running shoes at home as the colour usually washes out – but be prepared just in case.

AFTERWARDS

  • Dust off as much of the dry powder as you can before hopping in your car or adding any water.
  • We recommend anti-dandruff shampoo to help remove any colour patches, and if they’re being stubborn – apparently some good old fashioned baking soda added to your shampoo to make a paste – is a great trick !
  • Again – that fantastic trick of using baking soda works also on your body wash for stubborn spots.
  • Clothing – best thing to do – dust off all excess dust and then wash items separately in cold water. Napisan will help!
  • See you there and BE SURE to share all the fun with us on Facebook.
